Ashton + Tim: As Seen on Southern Bride

Posted July 29, 2020

Ashton and Tim held a summer wedding at the The Reserve at Lake Keowee. The day kicked off with the bride getting ready in a home in The Reserve, and the groom and groomsmen spending the morning on the lake. Close family friends hosted a pool party and welcome barbecue for all of the arriving wedding guests.

After the first look, the bridal party headed to the afternoon ceremony, held on the first tier of the lawn. After the conclusion of the ceremony, the guests went around the Clubhouse to the Front Lawn for cocktail hour. During this time, the wedding party and families took pictures at the ceremony site, and then the clouds turned dark. Amidst the heavy rain, Tim decided to take advantage of the storm. He asked the staff at The Reserve for a mason jar and took it outside to collect the rain. He brought Ashton the jar after the storm ended, and said, “I thought we could freeze this and use it to baptize our children one day”. What a sentimental surprise!

Just as cocktail hour ended, the storm blew over and the wedding guests headed down the lawn for the reception. The wedding party made their entrance, very aptly, to AC/DC’s Thunderstruck. First dances were had, cake was cut, toasts were given, and the bouquet was thrown. After the traditions, the Clemson Tiger mascot brought everyone onto the dance floor, to dance along with the wedding band, Steel Toe Stiletto. At the end of the night, all of the cheering guests lit the sparklers. The bands’ horns section gathered and led the new Mr. and Mrs. to their getaway car, a 1949 Cadillac convertible.
