Shivani and Shawn chose the Hyatt in Greenville, South Carolina as their reception venue, for its large event space. The traditional Indian festivities kicked off on the wedding day with the Baraat, with Shawn and his family joyously announcing his arrival. The party continued down Main Street, and concluded where Shivani’s family happily waited for the Milni to begin.
The Milni took place in NoMa Square, and was the perfect spot for everyone to gather around and watch; they drew quite a crowd. At the conclusion of the Milni, everyone headed inside toward the ceremony space. After everyone found their seats, the families, bridal party, and flower girls made their entrance. Later into the ceremony, Shivani began her walk down the aisle, escorted by her uncles. Swathed in a stunning red lehenga, she was hidden from her groom by a curtain held by family members. Once seated, the bride and groom exchanged a sweet hand hold before the sheet was removed. They completed the seven steps of the Hindu ceremony, and headed out as newlyweds!
At the conclusion of an early afternoon lunch, Shivani made her way to upstairs for a hair and makeup change. After slipping into her white reception gown, the couple headed down for a reception reveal and a few photos. They hid for a quick snack, and then made their way into the glamorous reception. Their introduction and first dance were accompanied by impressive indoor spark fountains lining the stage. After many heartfelt speeches and dances galore, the two headed off as Mr. and Mrs. Patel!
