Laurie Beth + Daniel: as seen on Carats & Cake

Posted November 17, 2020

Laurie Beth and her Texas-based family chose Highlands, North Carolina as the perfect location for her nuptials to Daniel. This fall celebration was full of warm, spicy tones and lush, neutral florals, and was perfectly nestled in the picturesque Blue Ridge mountains. Even their invitation suite spoke to the fall season in the mountains, featuring romantic letterpress complete with soft botanical accents.

While the beginning of the day brought lots of rain, that didn’t damper Laurie Beth and Daniel’s excitement one bit. Their faith, being such an important aspect in both of their lives, served as the foundation of their ceremony. Special hymns were played by the musicians, and they chose to take communion together as a couple. It was both incredibly faith-filled and personable. In fact, even during the homily, their pastor called the couple’s parents up to pray over them, as they entered into this new stage of life. Right afterwards, Laurie Beth and Daniel said their vows. The importance of both faith and family were present in every single aspect. Once they were pronounced husband and wife, they walked down the floral-lined aisle to cocktail hour with family and friends.

During cocktail hour, guests were served hot cider and chose from a variety of appetizers; one of them was a beef brisket slider complete with a mini Texas flag placed on top as a nod to the bride’s home state. At the reception, embroidered linens and gold accents warmed the space, giving off a cozy glow. Woven through the ceiling, champagne draping softened the space, and led to the impressive light wall placed behind the band. After dinner was enjoyed, the band kicked off the party, and the dance floor was packed all night long! They left the party through a tunnel of sparklers, waving goodbye to their beloved guests, departing for their honeymoon.
