Real Wedding: Sarah + Kurt

Sarah and Kurt chose Highlands, North Carolina for the location of their nuptials. They both have a love for the mountains, and selected The Farm at Old Edwards Inn. They welcomed only their closest friends and family, and the bride was escorted down the aisle by her teenage son—a touching moment not soon forgotten. The reception’s design featured natural colors, and touches of the bride’s affinity for equine details, reflected in table numbers and escort cards.

Organic florals balanced the structured linens, from the overhead installation, to the fireplace mantel. The dance floor anchored the room, complete with the custom monogram that matched their invitation suite! To top it all off, the cake showed off the couple’s favorite painting, and took center stage in the pavilion. Sarah and Kurt celebrated with their family and closest friends, and danced all night long!

Katie + Ben: as seen on Ruffled

Katie met Ben on a nonprofit group trip, ice climbing in Ouray, Colorado. They decided to run the NYC Marathon together to raise money for the charity that they both cared so much about. One year later, they were engaged at the summit of Mt. Sopris! They had a long distance engagement, with Ben in Colorado, and Katie in South Carolina.

Katie and Ben wed on Katie’s family property in upstate South Carolina. They said their vows in front of the small lake, framed by a growing greenery installation. Under the clear tent, they had perfectly mismatched chairs, paired with deep-hued place settings. Even their new German Shorthaired Pointer puppy made it to the party!

They sent guests home with a small Colorado Blue Spruce tree to plant when they returned. Amidst a sparklers, Katie and Ben set off for their honeymoon on one of the farm’s trucks—under a spectacular firework show!

Mary + Andrew: As Seen on Ruffled

Mary and Andrew held their summer wedding at the stately Daniel Chapel on Furman University’s campus, and then celebrated at Avenue downtown Greenville. We combined the bride’s sense of tradition and modern style through the creative use of linens, florals, and reception decor.

Mary’s maids donned light, cream bridesmaids dresses, mirroring her own lace Hayley Paige gown. The modern vibe of the reception was softened with summery, warm coral tones. Tall arrangements ran the length of the head table, accented with organic blooms and sculptural branches. Black chargers and taper candles worked together to bring depth to the color palette.

The wedding cake was traditional white buttercream, but with a hexagon shaped base for a modern touch. Framing the dance floor, and backing the stage, floating walls showcased statement growing florals. When the party kicked off, the uplights inside the walls turned on, and highlighted the arrangements inside all evening. Steel Toe Stiletto set the tone for the celebration and kept the party going all night long!

Real Wedding: Jessica + Brad

Jessica and Brad wanted to incorporate Southern roots with classic traditions in their Downtown Greenville nuptials. They married at Jessica’s home church, and then held their reception at the Huguenot Loft, on Broad Street. This restored mill building overlooks the scenic and central Reedy River that flows right through the Upstate. Their celebration was the perfect mix of tailored + organic details, and was refreshing on a July Saturday.

Every aspect of the wedding coordinated perfectly; even the ceiling of the church sanctuary was the right shade of blue! During the ceremony, a quick summer storm blew through and cooled things down. It was truly God’s perfect timing and made for relaxed, comfortable wedding party portraits.

Afterward, the reception recognized that no detail was too small. Mirrored table numbers, climbing greenery, and patterned linens were some of the most impactful touches. Tall arrangements and white draping accented the tall ceilings of the old mill. Southern nods were woven throughout the day—including the stationery, to monogrammed ring pillow (lovingly made by Jessica’s mom) to the vintage lounge pieces near the dance floor.

This transformation of the downtown venue is still a favorite, and reflected Jessica & Brad perfectly!

Real Wedding: Allison + Josh

Allison and Josh invited guests to Highlands, North Carolina to celebrate their marriage. With the area as their inspiration, the couple chose natural elements to accent the entire event. First, the invitation’s birch-patterned envelope liner & enclosure welcomed guests up to Farm at Old Edwards Inn. Then, on the wedding day, guests were met with an impressive fifteen foot tree in the center of the reception pavilion.

Katelyn Pinner Studio created floral arrangements with shades of pink, to make the bouquets pop against the navy dresses. Lounges flanked each side of the live tree in the center of the room. Navy brought visual depth also in textiles, and white draping softened the the rustic ceilings of the venue. Gold touches made their appearance in the place settings, votive candles, and accent tables.

At the reception, guests enjoyed a perfect summer signature drink with blackberries and bourbon. Allison and Josh dined together, at the head of the center farmhouse table. With family and friends all around, they celebrated their marriage, and the start of their lives together!

Chancey + Zach: As Seen in the Knot

Chancey and Zach wed in the center of Downtown Greenville, at Village Green. Florals anchored the altar in front of the waterfall. Her bridesmaids donned varying shades of beautifully blended tones of blush. Meanwhile, his groomsmen wore classic navy suits with matching patterned socks for a pop of personality. The spring rains threatened to move the ceremony indoors, but cleared up just in time for the ceremony to begin as planned.

After the ceremony, guests headed across the street, where bartenders greeted everyone with a King of Pops combined champagne “pop-tail” for the warm spring day. Inside Wyche Pavilion, neutral and blush tones were then woven throughout the day. From the dramatic billowing draping to the pillows in the lounges, every color went together seamlessly. Rattan chargers and gold flatware married the outdoor event with the sophistication of the event.

The newlyweds’ goldendoodle even made an appearance. She came to celebrate her parents right after the ceremony, and also made a surprise cameo on the back of the wedding cake!

Brittany + Chad: As Seen on Magnolia Rouge

Brittany & Chad envisioned a destination southern celebration of their marriage. They were between Highlands, NC, and Charleston, SC, and desired a full weekend for all of their guests. Ultimately selecting the coast, they first brought to us a classic and timeless vibe to shape into their special soirée. To offset the threat of summer heat, the couple offered a shaded ceremony with tented reception, enjoying all that the inviting lowcountry has to offer.

The lawn at Magnolia Plantation made for the perfect June wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. The bridal party were clad in classic tuxes and sandy champagne gowns. The perfect lead in to the bride’s entrance, though, was sweet pup Mellie as the flower girl. The couple happily wed on the intimate and scenic Long White Bride Lawn. Next, they joined guests to dine and celebrate under a sailcloth tent. Lush, creamy florals topped a combination of wooden estate tables and round tables with textured, neutral linens. From under greenery-accented chandeliers sophisticated soft seating beckoned guests to relax. Opposite the head table, the tent featured an impressive twenty-four foot bar: the groom’s request to eliminate any wait.

Brittany surprised Chad with their getaway car, which was a beautiful vintage Rolls Royce. It arrived with time to take photos with it, making for some really stunning golden hour portraits. The band kept the dance floor packed all night long, with Brittany and Chad at the center celebrating with their closest friends and family.

Real Wedding: Kristen + Jason

Kristen, an elementary school teacher, dreamed of a romantic fall wedding with modern touches. Held in the historic Huguenot Loft downtown Greenville, velvet hunter green linens ushered in the fall season. Kristen’s emerald-hued bridesmaids carried floral hoops in lieu of traditional bridesmaids’ bouquets. This kept with her sophisticated, trendy style, which we loved!

Though Kristen embraced many contemporary aspects into her day, seeing the groom before the wedding wasn’t one of them. However, they couldn’t resist having a few moments together at Village Green for a first (not) look. Holding hands and hearing each other’s voices calmed any would-be nerves, and made for some of the sweetest moments of the day.

Kristen and Jason were wed upstairs in the Broad Street Room, and guests then headed downstairs for cocktail hour while the space was flipped. Back upstairs, Kate Asire Flowers repurposed the ceremony hanging installation to be creatively positioned over the head tables, and she adorned the boho-inspired cake teepee with climbing greenery. When everyone was back upstairs for the reception reveal, Soulution band kicked off the party and had everyone dancing all night long!

Stephanie + Zane: As Seen on The Carolinas Magazine

This couple loves the outdoors, their dogs and regular exercise (having met in their often visited crossfit gym). So it was fitting that Zane proposed to Stephanie on top of Table Rock, looking over the Carolinas. Being local to Greenville, South Carolina, they knew they wanted to host their wedding in the heart of downtown Greenville. They chose Avenue, which fit perfectly with their modern aesthetic.

The bright, modern vibes were carried throughout the day, from the lasercut and gold foil invitations to the geometric altar structure, through to the table decor and bar signage. Vibrant abstract linens were selected, with coordinating napkins and runners to tie it all together. A huge floral “cherry blossom tree” installation anchored the center of the room with the angled head tables on either side, so everyone could have the perfect view. At the end of the night, custom crafted cookies were brought out, along with dog treats for everyone’s furry best friend at home.

Julianne + Charlie: As Seen in the Knot

We’re so excited to share a bit more about Julianne and Charlie’s day, which is currently on stands in the Knot: Carolinas Spring/Summer 2020 issue. Both living in Indianapolis during the planning process, the couple wanted to get married in Greenville, South Carolina where they met. Their wedding vision was far from the expected: instead of white and light, they dreamed of all the rich jewel tones.

Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Huguenot Loft downtown Greenville. Julianne had experienced her fair share of friends’ and families’ weddings, and wanted hers to stand apart, truly reflecting both Charlie and her personal tastes. From our first peek at her off-the-shoulder gown accented with gold embroidery, we knew it 100% would be. Their late May wedding was full of a rainbow of bright blooms and bold tri-toned deep hued draping over the dance floor. The color palette was anchored by deep teal which was reflected in invitations, taper candles, & bridesmaids dresses.

These two escaped before the reception for a few quiet moments around downtown Greenville for their golden hour portraits, and the love between them was palpable. The remainder of the night was full of dancing paired with a surprise rap performance by the groomsmen. The icing on the cake was in fact not cake at all; the bride’s favorite food, pizza, being brought out on the dance floor to share with all the guests. They were one of the most fun couples to be around, and had a celebration that was one for the books!
